Riva TNT:
 			
     This card from Nvidia change the face
   of the 3D card market and displace 3Dfx 
   as the most preffered 3D card manufacturer.
   The chip contains 7 million transistors, 
   a little less tha that of pentium III.
   Though faster cards than TNT are avaliable 
   it is still a very capable card and can 
   run almost all the Direct 3D and openGL 
   games at standard resolution and normal 
   details at a good frame rate.It is avaliable 
   with 8MB and 16MB SDRAM .

   TNT2/TNT2PRO/TNT2ULTRA:(In asending order of performance) TNT2 
	is an enhanced TNT with an improved pipeline which gives it
	better performance than the TNT.It is avaliable in different 
	flavours ie.pro,ultra.Ultra has a core which runs at a higher 
	clock speed than a standard TNT2 and hence has a better 
	performance.It is capable of running games at high resolution 
	and high details.It is avaliable with 16MB and 32MB SDRAM. 

   TNT2 VANTA/M64/combat:
                               
		     It is a scaled down version of TNT2 with a 64bit 
	pipeline instead of the 128 bit bus standard in the TNT series 
	of cards.It runs at a much lower clock speed compared to TNT2 
	and hence can make do without a heatsink.Its performance is
	slight lower than the TNT card at True(16 bit) colour but 
	there is a sharp performance drop at True(32 bit)colour due 
	to the narrow bus provided.It gives playable performance in 
	most games at standard resolution and normal details and is 
	quite economically priced and hence is a good buy for entry 
	level gamers. 

    Matrox G400/G450:
      

		   Other than ATI ,Matrox is the only manufacturer to
	built the complete card in house.Matrox card are more reknowned 
	for their 2D performance and are used where high quality image 
	and video editing is required.It gives 3D perforance some where 
	between a TNT and a TNT2.It supports some very good features 
	like environmental bumpmapping which gives very realistic 
	looking textures like sand or ripples on surface of water.It 
	has support for openGL and Direct 3D.It is avaliable with 
	16MB SDRAM. 

    GEFORCE/GEFORCE2/GEFORCE 2MX:This card has more than twice as 
	many transistors as pentium III and is	called as GPU
	(graphic processing unit) by Nvidia as it performs tasks 
	like Transform and lightening along with usual functions like 
	rendering which takes a lot of load off the cpu .It is also 
	faster at performing these tasks as it is specially designed 
	for it.It is capable of running games at a resolution of 
	1600 X 1200 True(32 bit) colour at high details.It is avaliable	
	with 32MB and 64MB SDRAM and also DDRRAM(double data rate).
	At this point of time it is the ultimate gaming card you can 
	buy but at a price.
